PARKWAY PUNDIT
Well it’s all been happening since the last home game on 21st January, transfers, not good results but continued commitment by those within from Plymouth Parkway.
Leaving the club and moving on has been, ‘Jimbo’ Alexander, who has gone back to Tavistock, Sam Stevens has gone to Elburton Villa and Ben Joyce has gone to Weymouth. Let’s hope it works out for those players at their new clubs, in particular Ben who has stepped up a few divisions to try his hand again at a higher level. It was particularly satisfying for the Managers that Ben let it be clearly known that if he could help when he was free, he would. Well said Ben.
Injuries are still a curse this season, Lee Doel still has a knee problem, Lee Bevan has a groin strain that needs a couple of weeks off, whilst Jamie Bass is suffering as well, plus Paul Heveran and John Wyatt. Will Stringer is working hard following a comeback from his serious injury a long time ago. So five injuries for the managerial team.
New faces in are Danny Zallick from Saltash and Ryan Richards from Liskeard. Ryan makes a return to the club where he made an impression when he was here last. It was a bit unfortunate last time as Ryan was cup tied; it was therefore difficult to have a regular place in the run up to the cup final.
Are the new dressing rooms cursed – the team have not won yet since taking up occupancy of the fantastic facility – of course there not – let’s not start rubbish like that.
Bovey Tracey tonight’s visitors kindly agreed to do the Friday as there is a Sunday FA Cup match here on Sunday with Lakeside in the quarter final. It gives the ground staff a little time to repair the damage.
Tomorrow (18th) the reserves are in the quarter final of the Devon Premier cup at Buckland Ath with a 2pm kick off. Should be very interesting, as both teams have a similar record, Buckland Reserves having lost only one match and Parkway just two – worth a trip!
